You can organize on three levels. First, you have to organize your time. Of course, you can be flexible especially when you have kids. Still, your schedule must be adhered to as closely as possible barring emergencies if you desire order in the house and in the business. You will indeed find that how to make money at home involves how to make order out of chaos.

Second, you need to organize your work areas. This is very important as you cannot and should not waste time and effort looking for every scrap of paper, every piece of office equipment, every loose paperclip in your already-crowded daily schedule.

Also, you have to keep your work areas separate from the rest of the living areas lest you find your office files becoming drawing paper, your ink mixed in with the infant milk, your laptop the new toy for the little boy. If possible, convert a spare room into a home office and keep it securely locked to avoid disasters of the kid kind.

Third, you must organize your business records. Your business records are valuable in keeping your business in the black when it comes to tax filing time, keeping business contacts, maintaining tip-top accounting records and generally just keeping tabs on the quantitative side of the business.

Remember that along with the knowledge of how to make money at home and how to run a successful home-based business come the responsibilities to pay taxes, keep honest accounting records and follow the laws pertaining to your business.

Rest, Relax, Unwind

As a work-at-home-mom, you will be required to perform many roles and to perform them well. You will be mother, wife, daughter, businesswoman, aunt, and friend all rolled into one superwoman package.

This can take its toll on your mind and body. To avoid burnout, you have to set aside time to rest, to relax, and to unwind from the pains of being a WAHM. If possible, you must consider your "me-time" as sacred and require that your family respect it to be sacred, too.

When you have applied these tips to balance how to make money at home with how to maintain your personal home life, you will have the best of both worlds. And what worlds these are - filled with emotional love and financial security.
